CMS Cepcor® recently supplied a new replacement bottom shell to suit a Metso® Superior 42-65 primary gyratory crusher.  What made this job unique is that the crusher bottom shell assembly weighing >30,000 Kgs was shipped by special airfreight to ensure the customers mine site minimised the risk of unplanned downtime due to fatigue cracks propagating in the original shell.  Accepted as the genuine alternative to the original equipment manufacturer, CMS Cepcor were selected to manufacture and supply a ‘like for like’ aftermarket replacement. With such a large piece being manufactured to order it was then a race against time to get the…
